Where Creativity Takes Flight
DRONES4KIDS
We are passionate about inspiring young minds
to become innovators, rather than being consumed
by technology mindlessly.
Empowering the Next Generation of Creators
With Drones4Kids, students can explore their creativity using cutting-edge technology.
We provide a supportive environment where they can experiment, learn,
and most importantly, have fun!
Hands-On Learning
A programmable drone fosters interactive learning. It engages students in coding, robotics, and STEM fields. Through hands-on experiences, it promotes problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity.
Development
Drone projects simulate authentic problem-solving scenarios, preparing students for future careers in fields such as robotics, aerospace, and data science.
STEM Integration
Drone training programs integrate various STEM subjects by allowing students to apply mathematical skills, physics principles, and engineering concepts in real-world scenarios.
Critical Decision-Making
Through programming and piloting drones, students learn computational thinking, spatial reasoning, and critical decision-making skills, all of which are essential in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Career and Technical Education
Drones offer exposure to real-world applications across various industries, from agriculture and environmental conservation to engineering and filmmaking.
Collaboration and Teamwork
Students learn to collaborate effectively, delegate tasks, and troubleshoot challenges collectively, mirroring real-world team dynamics.
It's so much fun, they won't realize they're learning!
At Drones4Kids, we’re turning dreams into reality for the next generation of innovators. The possibilities are endless! By learning to pilot drones, new students can become part of the future, shaping positive change in the world.
Imagine this Young minds erupt with delight as they navigate their drones through the air, mastering flips, loops, and dives like seasoned professionals.
Whether you’re an educational professional, teacher, or parent looking to ignite youth passion for technology, or a curious student itching to take to the skies, join us at Drones4Kids for an unforgettable flight of imagination!
We’re not your average organization – oh no. We’re out and about, spreading the joy of drone flying at libraries across Southern California, popping up at STEM fairs, festivals, forums, and even rocking private events with our high-flying drone adventures.
Squad Up & Fly Together
Experience the thrill (and safety!) of group drone adventures at our regular meet-ups. From casual gatherings to epic weekends, there’s something for every pilot. ️

Geometry
Students can calculate the area of a drone fly zone, obstacle course, or outdoor area; calculate vertical distances and speeds of advanced flight patterns.
Flight Challenges
Set up obstacle courses or designate targets for participants to fly their drones through in a timed competition. This tests piloting skills and spatial awareness.
Have a “Drone Soccer” challenge where participants use lightweight balls or rings to maneuver the objects into goals.
Coding and Programming
We offer introductory coding workshops where participants learn basic programming concepts through drone flight simulators or simple drone coding activities. For more advanced groups, provide challenges where they have to code specific flight patterns or maneuvers.
Meet Our Core Team
We teach students about all the controls of drones
and the utility that a drone provides for them by integrating drone technology in STEM education.

Co-Founder
Drones4Kids was established by Brandon Kim and Brian Kim in 2020. Brandon Kim obtained his FAA Part 107 license in 2021 and identified a lack of programs or organizations focused on educating California’s youth about drones.
Currently, under the direction of Brian Kim, Drones4Kids has grown its outreach initiatives to encompass three counties. Our goal is to engage with as many young people as possible and introduce them to the numerous opportunities available in the drone industry.
Drones4Kids delivers impactful STEM education by offering drone training, piloting skills, and programming, all while prioritizing FAA safety standards and industry best practices.
On January 30, 2025, the organization was proudly awarded a Certificate of Congressional Recognition by Young Kim, Member of Congress for California’s 40th District.
Congratulations to the team for this well-deserved honor!
